Ernste Gegenwart
In jedem Mann, jeder Frau und den Akkorden
liegt doch ein kleines Kind verborgen.
Wir alle haben Wege rund um unser Globus:
voll Geschichten, Rollen, ernsten Tabus…
Und im Sommer gibt es Liegestühle, Fete
und halbnackte Sonnenanbeter!
Wir sind der Planeten- und Sternenstaub –
doch nehmen Unsinniges für wahre Gegenwart.
Serious Presence
In every man, in every chord,
A small child lies, unseen, ignored.
Beneath the skin, behind the face,
It seeks a quiet hiding place.
We all have paths around our globe,
Internal maps we try to probe.
In all of us, the roads run deep,
With roles and promises we keep.
Full of stories, old and new,
And serious, untouched taboos.
Like touch-me-nots that guard the gate,
We bear the heavy, silent weight.
But then the summer comes around,
With deck chairs on the burning ground.
The loungers fill, the parties start,
Distracting from the heavy heart.
Half-naked sunbathers appear,
To chase away the inner fear.
We are planetary, ancient dust,
Galactic atoms, formed in trust.
We span the cosmos, wide and free,
Yet bind ourselves to misery.
We act with such a serious presence,
While missing life’s true, glowing essence.
Seriously, it makes no sense,
To give such weight to nonsense.

скрыт и дятел, и дитёнок.
Во всех нас есть дороги,
истории и недотроги…
А летом есть лежаки,
полуголые загораки!
Мы - пыль планет и звёзд -
Воспринимаем чепуху всерьёз.
